Held at the Elliot Lake Airport Dragway this 1/8 mile drag race offers thrilling race action along with jet cars, firetruck wheelstander, funny cars, classic car show, Deric Farquhar Memorial Mayor’s Challenge Race, live concert with The Shed Jammers, Science North, giant bouncyland and climbing wall for the kids, VIP area, Molson's pouring station, food and merchandise vendors and more! The “Hard Rock 5K Triple Crown Drag Race Series” points championship, is a partnership between the ‘North Shore Challenge’, Wawa ‘Provost Northern Nationals’ and the Chapleau ‘Gold Rush Nationals’ races.  The total prize purse is $5,000!

Registration Criteria:

  • Registration at Elliot Lake’s North Shore Challenge race, July 19 - 21
  • To qualify drivers must race at all 3 northern races: Elliot Lake, Wawa and Chapleau
  • There is no cost to enter into the series, this is a value added attraction for our drivers
  • Points will be awarded based on place of finish in each race. 

o   Winner – 20 points (1 person)

o   Runner Up – 15 Points (1 person

o   Semi Finalist – 10 points (Could be 2 people)

o   Quarter Finalist - 5 points (Could be 4 people)

o   Round of 16 – 2 points (Could be 8 people)

  • $5,000 Prize Purse:

o   1st Place:  $3,000

o   2nd Place: $1,500

o   3rd Place: $500

  • DO NOT bring dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, go carts, etc. unless it is your designated pit vehicle. You must have a valid driver’s license to drive a pit vehicle.
  • Helmet laws are in effect and will be strictly enforced by the OPP.
  • Race entries limited to one golf cart or regular quad for towing AND it must be registered with the track AT THE TIME you enter the facility with your racer. Decals will be issued.
  • A motor home towing the race car trailer, no extra charge. If you want to tow in with anything else AND bring a motor home in as well you MUST have the motor home with you when you purchase your tech card and park. A regular motor home charge will apply.
  • Any rider/driver or crew member or person in association with a rider/driver or crew member who is considered to be under the influence of any drug, alcohol or any judgment impairing substance will be expelled from the race and escorted off the premises – along with the entire crew and vehicle associated with the offender.
  • Violators endangering others with reckless and inconsiderate driving habits (whether it is in/on a race vehicle or a pit vehicle) will be expelled from the race facility with the entire crew and race vehicle without a refund.
  • Tow-vehicles and race cars in the pit area only! Saving pit spaces will not be allowed.
  • Any personal alcoholic beverages are to be kept and consumed at your own camp site. Absolutely NO BOTTLES allowed.
  • A quiet-time noise-free policy is in effect from 11 pm until 7am. No generators, no cars running, no loud music.
  • Rain-out policy: In case of a rain-out, at any time of the rain-out, the first prize money in every class will be drawn from the remaining eligible racers. In the classes of Super Pro and Semi Pro, there will be four names drawn. In the classes of Street, Motorcycles and Drag Sleds, and Junior there will be only two names drawn.
  • Quiet Hours start at 11 pm and this is strictly enforced by security and the OPP.

Great Family Attractions

There’s hours of fun to be had at our great family attractions including a Bouncyland, Climbing Wall and Science North’s “Agricultural Science” interactive exhibit. Parents can drop off their children for up to two hours at our supervised area. Be assured your child is safe while you enjoy the races. Paperwork will have to be filled out upon registration of the child with contact information, etc. Parents or Guardian are required to stay on site at the event.

Drivers Information

 

Driver Services

  • Single space (18 ft wide) provided in the pit lane with race entry. Maximum of 3 vehicles and/or trailers permitted.

Pit Sites

  • Absolutely NO Bottles
  • NO Fireworks
  • NO Pets
  • Generators must be off at 11:00 PM
  • Weekend wristbands required for everyone in pit parking after 8:00 PM
  • Toilet rentals available through Jim's Portables, Whitefish. These are serviced toilets and are available for $80.00 plus tax. Call 1-866-279-1110 or visit their website to book. Toilets may not be available after May 30th.
